The Road Less Travelled – Forging Your Own Path

The Road Less Travelled - Forging Your Own Path - The Entrepreneurs Journey

The Journey of an wanderer and seeker is never easy, its full of challenges and obstacles, trials and tribulations with each step allowing you to grow develop and transform your life! Within this article, I am going to be talking to you about “The Road Less Travelled and Forging Your Own Path” so you can live a life of purpose and passion and follow your bliss. The article will be filled with inspiration, motivation and implementation you can use to aid you on your journey…

Life is a constant and never ending journey, with each step you take, you move closer to your dreams and desires. As an entrepreneur, you have chosen The Road Less Travelled and have the task of forging your own path and the truth is, its not easy. In fact, it can be extremely challenging at times, yet it can offer you some of your greatest rewards, bring you incredible fulfilment and allow you to become happy and content in your life.

When you choose the path of an entrepreneur, you enter the forest where there is no path, as your look ahead of you, you are unsure of where it will lead. You just know its the right path for you… This reminds me of the quote by Joseph Campbell whereby he states:

“If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path.” – Joseph Campbell

So, how do you begin your journey when you dont know exactly where you are going or where you are headed… I would say it always begins with aligning yourself with what is important with you in your life. One of the greatest tools that I have used over the years is Anthony Robbins: 6 Human Needs, where you can discover your primary human needs and what drives you every day. You can then begin aligning your goals with your primary drivers and human needs to bring you fulfilment into your life every day.

Natures Wisdom - Nicole Levac

Once you have begun the process of aligning yourself with who you are, ask yourself what is important to you in your life? What brings you happiness every day? This will allow your journey to flow with much more ease as you progress. Just remember the quote – “They never said it would be easy, but they did say it would be worth it!”. I liken this very much to nature, as the environment changes, nature adapts and responds. Much like how you adapt with the ebb and flow of life and the changes within your own life. I would highly recommend Nicole Levac’s Blog – Natures Wisdom for connecting with yourself and nature. Image courtesy of Nicole Levac.

Your journey is a constant journey of self discovery as delve deeper down the rabbit hole of understanding yourself. Along the way you are going to have to slay a few dragons. These dragons though can be very much seen as your shadow self, as you nurture yourself and begin unlocking qualities within yourself that may have been holding you back. Healing is a big part of your journey and transformation, once you accept this and appreciate the darker parts of yourself, that is when true transformation begins. Joseph Campbell describes it as The Inner Most Cave, where you discover the deepest parts of yourself and yet you fear to enter for fear of the unknown and fear of what you may find! Once you enter that cave though, you will uncover the greatest treasure. Joseph Campbell states:

“The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come. At the darkest moment comes the light.” ― Joseph Campbell

So, no matter where you are on your journey, remember…in your greatest moment of darkness, you will find the real message of transformation. Like I have mentioned in the previous article “Identifying Archetypes on Your Journey“, always let your conscience be your guide.   Allow your intuition to guide you on your journey as it will lead you to your destination and show you the pathway through the challenges and obstacles that lay ahead. Finally become fearless, for every step you take will bring you closer to your dreams – Your journey is your destination, allow your journey to take you where you need to go! Finally set your goals and outcomes in alignment with your primary drivers and human needs and soon enough you will find yourself at the peek of the mountain!

  • I love how you mention that the journey that is ours is not a beaten path. I also resonated with: it’s ‘ a constant journey of self discovery as you delve deeper down the rabbit hole of understanding yourself’ So true. Great article Andy.

    • Thank You for your comment Nicole. I personally believe that as entrepreneurs many people are afraid to take that journey of self discover but do see it as the place where the transformation happens. I’m always wondering how deep that rabbit hole goes! 🙂

What a great article! Although I am not very familiar with Joseph Campbell’s work, as a Twin Flame Mentor and Reader I
can see very clear parallels between his wisdom and the process which I have personally gone through on my own Twin Flame journey. I’ve also observed some of my clients go through this on their respective Twin Flame journeys.

As you say Andy, each journey is unique, whether in your personal life or in business. I firmly believe that knowing, liking,
appreciating, and loving yourself unconditionally, every step of the way, can give you the confidence to pursue and achieve your goals and dreams.

    • Thank You for your comment @gialiliganger:disqus and for your compliments, its much appreciated! Its interesting, the twin flame journey is very transformational and can also see many parallels. From speaking with you its amazing to see how different clients journeys are in some way and also how similar they are in other ways. Each journey it unique and yet follows a similar pattern through the Heros Journey.

I completely agree, its about loving yourself unconditionally each step of the way. I personally see our journey as a shift of consciousness within our mind, as we grow and transform. Our perspectives on life change and so we become transformed and start loving and appreciating each and every aspect of who we are.
